factors that could affect your sunless tan:

  • SEASONAL/WEATHER CHANGES

During the summer months, we perspire more. Sweating naturally causes dead skin cells to accumulate at a faster rate, thus causing the skin to exfoliate more rapidly. During the winter season we are more prone to dry skin.

  • STAY HYDRATED!

If not properly staying hydrated, the skin may be drier than usual.

  • HORMONAL CHANGES

Hormones can have a significant effect on the skin and the outcome of the spray tan.

  • BODY WASHES/SOAPS

Some body washes/soaps may act as a barrier to sunless tanning solutions. This is why it is important to exfoliate prior to getting spray tanned.

  • ANTI-AGING/ACNE PRODUCTS

Some of these products can prevent the DHA absorption into the skin. They too can create a barrier for the tanning solution.

  • MEDICATION

Any current medications that are being taken can affect the outcome of the tan.

  • SHOWER TEMPERATURE

Warm showers are the way to go. Hot water can cause the skin to be dry and/or itchy.
